A COLLABORATIVE POST WITH INTRODUCTION BY IAN HOWARD

ASSISTANT EDITOR,  BOOM BOX POST

Summer is here, and that means new interns have joined the team here at Boom Box Post! They've already started to learn from editors, record sound effects and have a lot more ahead of them. This week, we'll sit down with intern Katie Maynard to learn more about her and her interest in sound.

Hi Katie! So what grabbed your interest in sound for television & film?

I like that there is so much room for collaborative creativity. That  you get to put a little bit of your work into a larger product.

What are you most excited to learn about during your internship?

I have experience learning film production from an education standpoint but I'm excited to learn more of what the industry side is like.

What is your favorite animated television show or movie?

A French animated film called My Life as a Zucchini. I liked it because it dealt with heavy subject matters in a light hearted way.

What's the craziest or favorite sound you have ever heard?

Theres a crazy instrument I saw online called a Waterphone. It makes really cool horror sounds!

If you were a type of bread, what would you be?

I would probably choose French Bread because of My Life as a Zucchini.
