I am extremely excited to announce that Boom Box Post has officially broken ground on a brand new facility. Boom Box Post Verdugo will be 6,000 sq ft of state of the art post production sound space. Collaboration is of the utmost importance to us and we are thrilled to be able to house our growing staff under one roof. We are building three large Dolby Atmos mix stages, supported by three predub rooms. In addition, the facility boasts another eight 5.1 sound editorial spaces. Everyone will be able to utilize a large indoor/outdoor communal space, in addition to three designated client lounge spaces within the generous common areas of the building. In true Boom Box fashion, the building will be bright and breezy, taking advantage of the four existing oversized loading door spaces, framing each out with glass windows and doors to bring in enormous amounts of natural light not typically found in post-production studios. Lastly, our new parking lot will offer plenty of on-site parking for our clients.

How Did We Get Here?

BOOM BOX POST_plan perspective.jpg

Since opening our doors in 2015, we’ve always imagined a space of our own which we could tailer precisely to our needs. With this in mind, a few years ago we started our search for a new home. Our requirements were very specific; we wanted a free-standing building with high ceilings for our mix stages, located as close as possible to our existing Olive and Victory location in the heart of Burbank, CA. We saw plenty of buildings that were not quite right, but it was time well spent. Each disappointment helped us to hone in on exactly what we were looking for.

When our realtors sent us the listing for an aging auto-body shop, we initially ignored it. But soon we realized that with some creativity, this could be the perfect place for us. With 25 foot ceilings, there was more than enough room to build our mix stages and even build out a second floor mezzanine to add editorial spaces. And so here we are, tearing apart “Concord Auto Works” with plans to breath new life into the fantastic bones of this place.

What’s Next?

With a little luck, we hope to open the doors to Boom Box Verdugo (located less than a half mile from our current location!) by late 2021/early 2022. We plan to share our journey along the way on social media and hope you’ll follow along as we build the future of Boom Box Post! In the meantime, here are some planning images, original photos of the building and some early construction work in progress shots.
