A COLLABORATIVE POST WITH INTRODUCTION BY

Sound effects editor Brad Meyer is always designing amazing effects with unique builds and altering plugins. This week, well chat with him about a steady and pass by effect he created for a super fast running animal.

HEY BRAD! SO LETS HEAR THE FULL BUILD OF WHAT YOU CREATED.

Could you break down how you created that build?

I created layers of steady sounds which consisted of a jet turbine power up, a bagpipe, leg swishes and the sounds of pitter patter of feat which is different depending on the surface. The bagpipe I processed to add rising tension using the Waves Shifter plugin to make the pitch go up over time and the protools built in Mophodor plugin to add a SiFi sounding element to it.

Once I created my full build, I rendered that into one file and created multiple turning and pass by sounds using Wave Doppler on the U-turn setting. I then added some cartoony raceway zips and tire squeaks for stopping and starting the run to create the full build.
