In the spirit of Halloween, we brought back another edition of the “Death by Sound Effect” series! For those unfamiliar with this sound design challenge: we brainstorm a list of some imaginative (and gruesome) ways one’s life could end, then ask our sound editors to pick one and design the sound of it. Let’s see what they came up with!
We love to put our editors to the test to see what kind of SFX builds they can come up with! For Halloween this year, we thought it would be fun to see how well they can design a realistic, classic Halloween creature. From werewolves, vampire, and zombies, to banshees, let’s see what they came up with!
To celebrate Halloween in a gruesome style, we decided to do part two of: Death by Sound Effect. We came up with a cause of death and put our editors to the task to create a gross, gruesome sound build. Let’s see what they came up with!
At Boom Box Post, we primarily work on animated television series, which means that much of our design work is linear and lives within the context of the story. However, every once in a while we’re thrown a fantastic curveball and are asked to design for something outside of our usual sound-for-picture role.
Recently, one of our television series came to us with a design mission: to create the sounds which would be integrated into a toy based on a train which would appear in a future season of the series.
