AI in the Sound Industry: A Survey of Your Questions & Concerns

Artificial intelligence use has recently become top of mind for many of us, especially those of us in creative industries like sound and music. So, I wasn’t completely surprised when Soundgirls invited me to take part in an panel at their upcoming virtual conference regarding AI in the sound industry. I had an intensely fun and engaging first conversation with the other panelists, each of whom are in different areas of the sound industry, where we shared our personal hopes and fears. But it occurred to me that I would love to hear what your thoughts are on AI.

"Hollywood Game Changers" Panel at San Diego Comic-Con with Kate Finan

This year, I was invited to be on Impact24’s 5th Annual “Hollywood Game Changers: A Conversation with the Women Behind Popular Film and TV Projects” panel at San Diego Comic Con. I was humbled to be joined by other amazing women from across the entertainment industry, such as Ashleigh Hairston, EP/Voice Actor on Nickelodeon’s The Fairly Odd Parents: A New Wish; Joy Ngiaw, composer for WondLa, Skydance’s epic new animated series; KC Cavarozzi, Co-Founder of On Camera Audiences, and more.

Boom Box Post at WAMCon Los Angeles: Sound for Picture

We’ve all heard the old adage: be the change you want to see in the world. Jeff and I take this responsibility extremely seriously. We may only be one small studio in Burbank, CA, but we are doing our best to aid in the visibility of women as smart, capable, and creative audio professionals. We sleep well at night knowing that we are giving opportunities to deserving individuals and we’re doing it in an environment of respect and appreciation.

So you can see that taking part of WAMCon was a natural extension of our company ethos. We could not be more proud that they asked us to be part of it.
