We recently celebrated Boom Box Post’s 9th birthday! Here's a look back at all that we accomplished in the past 9 years.  We could not be more grateful for the opportunity to flourish in this community, and we hope BBP’s 10th year is filled with even more opportunities to shine. 

We completed the post-production sound on 140 different television series, features, shorts, pilots, and commercials!

With an extensive range of project experience, we have successfully completed post production sound on over 140+ series, shorts, pilots, features, commercials, and immersive projects. Our client list has also grown throughout the last 9 years keeping us busy and constantly engaged.

Boom Box Post’s custom-built studio facility

We said goodbye to our 211 W Palm Ave office and hello to our 520 S Verdugo Dr office! After constructing the plans, we successfully built our own post sound house that perfectly fits all of our staff and client needs!

intern to apprentice program

We relaunched our internship program in 2021. However, there was a  twist! Our internship transformed into a paid apprenticeship. Throughout the course of the program, apprentices gain valuable industry experience as well as a window into Boom Box Post's internal creative processes. We have graduated 25 interns, and are currently training our 4th apprentice.

We designed over 7,000 new sound effects for boom box library. 

We branched out and created our own sound effect library company, Boom Box Library. We have created 11 different libraries with over 7,000 sound effects that you can purchase to help with your own sound design projects!

Boom box post owner, jeff shiffman was invited to be on a panel at san diego comic con

Boom Box Post owner Jeff Shiffman, was invited to be on Impact24’s Fan Favorites panel at this year’s San Diego Comic Con to give insight on his work in sound mixing for animation. Some highlights included Jeff’s experience with the reboots of many animated classics, his approach to mixing Transformers: Earthspark, and finding inspiration for his sound work in the real world.

We have posted more than 440 blog posts

We have been posting weekly blog posts every Tuesday for the past 9 years, making more than 440 posts. We have written quite a lot; everything from resources for your sound projects to fun quizzes you can play when you’re bored.

We have presented 53 Lunch and Learn’s

We host monthly meetings that are followed by an educational lesson we call a “Lunch & Learn.” Topics include a wide variety of sound related skills from noise reduction to synthesis. We have successfully presented 53 lunch and learn’s that are all posted on our blog as sound resources.

we have welcomed new members to our team

Starting with just two people, the expansion of the company to a team of 19 individuals is truly exhilarating. With supervisors, re-recording mixers, editors, and assistants joining forces, we have assembled a team that brings exceptional knowledge and dedication to their work. We are very happy with the collection of employee’s that started in Boom Box Post’s first year, to the fresh faces that have been hired recently, and everyone in between.

A huge thank you to all those who have supported us through this journey over the past 9 years, and here’s to the next 9 years!
